Valley Women's Center

About the Valley Women's Center

Valley Women's Center (VWC) is a non-profit, community-based agency that is partially funded by the Department of Public Health – Substance Abuse Prevention and Control, with the rest made up through modest fees and donations. Help for women alcoholics is the premise on which the non-profit Valley Women's Center was founded. Since then, VWC has expanded its services to include treatment and programs for men, women and children suffering from substance use disorders, domestic violence and other threats to family stability. Our facility is certified by the State of California and the County of Los Angeles.

The Center offers individual, couples and family counseling in English and Spanish for concerns related to personal, family and marital conflict, incest, depression and emotional eating. In addition, we offer support groups for the chemically dependent and their families, treatment for co-dependency, parenting, and other women's issues.

The Center services clients who struggle with domestic violence. These victims are offered individual counseling, support groups, domestic violence education classes and life skills training. Our goal is to empower and motivate clients to overcome barriers so they can make effective choices that lead to productive and healthy lifestyles. Clients are encouraged to become resourceful and are offered interventions that will increase self-esteem and address obstacles that appear overwhelming.

Our outreach, education and referral services are free to the community. Fees for individual, couples, family and group counseling are based on a sliding scale

Our professional staff, generous Board of Directors and cherished volunteers all contribute to the success of our community-based programs. Our therapists are licensed professionals, advanced MFT interns or trainees and certified substance abuse counselors. Interns and trainees are supervised by a licensed MFT.

For those at risk for drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence and other threats to family stability … there is always hope! We care and we are here to help.
