Substance Use Disorder Program

Valley Women’s Center offers an all-inclusive Substance Use Disorder Program for individuals that are not covered by Medi-Cal insurance. This is a 6-month, private pay program that covers all services that would traditionally be offered in a Medi-Cal insurance-covered program:

  • Anger Management Group: Includes integrated topics such as: Personal/Self Awareness; Stress Management; Emotional Intelligence; Communication, and Role Modeling.
  • Relapse Prevention Group: Focuses on helping individuals prevent relapsing into substance use through education about alcoholism and addiction, helping clients recognize individual triggers and develop personal coping strategies necessary to live free from substance use.
  • Addiction Education Group: Focuses on the dynamics of addiction. It includes integrated topics such as physiological and biochemical processes of addiction, psychological dynamics of addiction, interpersonal and social factors influencing addictions, historical perspectives on addiction, and current trends in treating drug and alcohol addictions.
  • Random urinalysis testing
  • Individual counseling sessions twice a month
  • Treatment planning
  • Progress letters, as necessary
  • Certificate of completion
  • Court accepted

Addiction Education Group

This is an ongoing support group that focuses on the dynamics of addiction. It includes integrated topics such as:

  • Physiological and biochemical processes of addiction
  • Psychological dynamics of addiction
  • Interpersonal and social factors influencing addiction
  • Historical perspectives on addiction
  • Current trends in treating drug and alcohol addiction

Relapse Prevention Group

Valley Women's Center offers this group for those attempting to recover from substance abuse issues in a peer group environment. The group focuses on helping individuals to prevent themselves from relapsing into substance use through education about alcoholism and addiction, showing clients how to recognize individual triggers and develop the personal coping strategies necessary to live free from substance use. This group is open to all. Initial intake is required.

  • Facilitate substance abuse prevention in a peer group environment

Parenting Classes

STEP: Systematic Training for Effective Parenting Twelve-Week Parenting Course

  • Practical and effective help for parents
  • Focuses on topics important to parents today
  • Trains parents on how to communicate with their children
  • Easy to understand and apply
  • Shows video examples so parents can see how to apply the techniques
  • Provides certificate at completion of training

Anger Management Group

Valley Women's Center offers this group for those with anger issues. The group focuses on the management of anger with integrated topics, such as:

  • Personal/Self awareness
  • Stress management
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Communication
  • Role Modeling

  • This is a 26-week skill-building group with a rotating format and is open to all. Initial intake is required. A certificate is provided at the conclusion of 26 weeks.
